When I first moved to Minnesota this house was vacant and I loved it.  History just sitting there as progress pops up all around it.  I took my husband to look at the property, but he said there was way too much work to be done...plus the little schoolhouse looking building behind it was a mess as well and would either need to be removed or re-worked and that wasn't an option at the time. 

648308-453849-thumbnail.jpgNow this lovely house is a coffeeshop.  I don't go there as much as I used to, but I do drive by regularly...sometimes, when I need a pick me up, I go for a latte and a few minutes of sitting in the Front Room or on the patio.  It always makes me feel better...though I will warn you, the coffee isn't done as well as the location across town.  If you want to see an incredible house rehab AND have a lovely place to sit and relax, then THIS is the best coffeehouse setting in town!  If nothing else, you should at least go to see it.  OH...and they serve wine in the evenings...which is nice if they have a cheese plate available...a lovely prelude to dinner, indeed.

I love stories like this. More of these historic homes should be made into quaint little businesses like this. We have a ton of them in our town, and it would be nice to see a coffee shop or antique shop made out of some near me. Thanks for posting.
