Today I bought my dream car. A super cute silver VW Beetle! It's a used baby...but he's a very happy baby!
I love him, but am too damn sick to even think about creating some art to commemorate my new friend. I think instead I will do a mail art call for all things VW Beetle. Over the next couple of months I’d like to see what people come up with…post cards, greeting cards, CD art, whatever…as long as it involves a VW Beetle in some way.
I will photograph each item and post it on this blog…but I will also use the artwork to decorate my ugly hotel room for now, but ultimately…I will find a way to incorporate all the art in my new home here in California. I am pulling together my collage stuff to make post cards…so make sure you send me something soon! I’m really excited about my little car and I can’t wait to show you all…oh!!!
And I need a name! I firmly believe that a car you love deserves a name….so please, tell me what you think…I kinda like Bailey…ya know, like Beetle Bailey. I know, corny…but my smiling bug is very cute and slightly goofy too. Goofy because he has no CD player…just a cheesy cassette. I’m going to fix that, but it does make him a goofy car in this high tech car world of ours.
Soooo…in addition to Beetle artwork…send along a name for my new baby. I’ll post some pics soon so you can get a feel for what a lovely little boy he is…I promise you’ll love him as much as I do – so send some art and a name soon!
